Carlos holds a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master’s Degree in Engineering Management from Duke University.
Prior to Rotman, Carlos worked in the oil and gas industry for 4 years in multiple roles spanning both corporate functions and field operations in the US. Additionally, he spent 5 years working in Latin America for a major gas field as Operations Planning & Performance Manager, playing a major role in developing the asset’s strategic operational plans both long term and short term.
For his summer internship, Carlos will be joining Amazon in their Operations Pathways Program.
Executive Vice President
Sarah is a professional engineer who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Western Ontario.
Prior to Rotman, Sarah worked as an engineering consultant for Dillon Consulting Limited. In this role, she completed detailed design and contract administration services for high-profile municipal engineering projects. Sarah is passionate about mentorship and promoting diversity in engineering. She is on the leadership team for the LINKS Mentorship program and was awarded the Leacross Foundation Award for contributions to women in STEM fields.
For her summer internship, Sarah is joining EllisDon Corporation in a project management function.
Executive Vice President
Ian holds a Bachelor’s degree in Honours Electrical Engineering with an option in Management Science from the University of Waterloo.
Prior to Rotman, Ian worked as a product manager in the IoT/SmartHome space, where his products were launched into North American stores like Costco, and featured in tech publications like PCMag. Before that, he held other management positions at Apple & Huawei, and worked in other consulting, operations, & engineering roles.
After graduating, Ian hopes to continue into executive management, building technology that benefits society and creates end-user value.
VICE PRESIDENT, INDUSTRY RELATIONS
Sahand holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto. He is part of the University of Toronto’s joint Skoll BASc/MBA Program.
Prior to Rotman, Sahand worked at Aecon and Hirox Construction, where he aided in leading, supervising, and coordinating the project management for private, municipal, and provincial developments.
Sahand has a strong passion for real estate development and currently also serves as a section representative at the Rotman Real Estate Association (RREA).
VICE PRESIDENT, FINANCE
Bill holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto. He is part of the University of Toronto’s joint Skoll BASc/MBA Program.
Prior to Rotman, Bill worked at SUEZ Water Technologies & Solutions as a Mechanical Engineer, where he participated in the development of water treatment equipment & systems and in the sustaining of existing platform systems. Throughout Bill’s engineering career, he has participated in all aspects of the design process.
For his summer internship, Bill will be joining Scotiabank Global Banking & Markets within the Global Capital Markets Banking Group.
VICE PRESIDENT, Diversity & Inclusion
Maithri holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering with a minor in Engineering Business from the University of Toronto.
Prior to Rotman, Maithri worked at Citi in their Institutional Clients Group, where she identified application inefficiencies, solved time-sensitive issues with trading applications, and essentially became the bridge between traders and developers.
Post-MBA, Maithri is excited to pivot into consulting; this summer, she will be joining Accenture as a Summer Consultant.
VICE PRESIDENT, Operations
Redwan Baba holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto. He is a part of the University of Toronto’s joint Skoll BASc/MBA Program.
Prior to Rotman, Redwan worked at Stantec Consulting Inc. as a Land Development Engineer. where he focused on the design and project management of large projects such as Sidewalk Labs.
For his summer internship, Redwan is joining Sunlife’s Private Fixed Income team and is set to complete a fall internship with VC firm Bay Mills Investment Group.
VICE PRESIDENT, COMMUNICATIONS
Alexander holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto. He is a part of the University of Toronto’s joint Skoll BASc/MBA Program.
Prior to Rotman, Alexander worked at Forest Group Ltd. as a Resource Manager and a Project Scheduling Coordinator. At Forest Group Alexander focused on reducing overhead and improving resource allocation for various new construction and rehabilitation of commercial and industrial roadways.
Post-graduation, Alexander plans to pursue a career in finance and specialise within the asset management space.
John is a professional mechanical engineer, licensed in both Canada and the United States, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in New York.
Prior to Rotman, John worked in downstream petroleum, with a focus on petrochemical technology equipment. He worked in Niagara Falls, Edmonton, Fort MacMurray, New Jersey, and Thailand.
John hopes to bring his engineering mindset and team skills to capital markets after graduation.
Brendan is a professional engineer who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from McGill University.
Prior to Rotman, Brendan worked as an engineering consultant in the buildings and construction industry, providing consulting and project management services for restoration projects.
Brendan’s experience gave him an appreciation for how property owners manage capital expenditures to maximize the value of their assets. This reaffirmed his keen interest in real estate, the industry he is aiming to join post-MBA.
Akhilesh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Mumbai and a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from McGill University.
Prior to Rotman, Akhilesh worked as an engineering consultant within public infrastructure and provided high level engineering solutions and project management services to public sector clients, such as the City of Toronto, MTO and various First Nations communities.
Post-MBA he is interested in pursuing a career in finance, where he can engage in sustainable impact investing.
